Could We See Big Block Gas V-8 & V-10 In New Trucks Again

With the new EPA laws under the new prez/senate in the White house could we see GM 8.1 and Fords V-10 back into trucks soon.

Might even have a other gas class A motorhome chassis to choose from.

  • I'll be happy if the EPA gets knocked down a few pegs (or more).

A new engine/chassis choice would be icing on the cake. :)

given the HP and torque they are getting out of gas 6ish litre engines, I doubt mfg will want to make a big block that would have pretty low useage compared to the gas engines used across a huge line of vehicles.

and I doubt we will see enough change in the EPA rules to justify a big block anyway. I hope EPA reg's don't get weaker.
  • Hang on. Workhorse is making a comeback with monster V8 that is reported to make 40 foot plus gas rigs doable. Might be available this year!

I agree, also the extra $8000 for a diesel and high maintenance cost I would rather have Fords V-10 in a truck.
  • Was just reading Motortrend, this afternoon. MT truck of the year, the Ford Superduty . The base F-250 has the 6.2 V-8 but also optional 6.7 V-8. The diesel offered in the F 250 and F 350 is probably the best choice for those towing as it is very efficient with fuel.
