Unbob, you need to change insurance companys. When we lost our trailer in a blowover & did $10,000 worth of damage to the truck the insurance company not only expedited our claim there was no problem renewing. In a few years we are now back to a full no claims discount.
Since that incident we are very wary of the wind. The rough plan is, if there is enough time, head north out of the way or south out of the way. The storms generally track in SW to NE direction. If you are on the tracks & a train is coming, step aside one way or another.
If you are setup in a CG, & the storm is barreling at you, well, what can you do? Grab your important documents & find best shelter.
Hurricanes don't scare me. Been through more than a few of them. Big thunderstorms & those whirly things do scare me. Only had a few close calls with a couple medium sized thunderstorms, no twisters. The ham radio was put to use to avoid them both times.
