CPAP Machines RV's

Wanted to run my Res-Med in my TC when boondocking so I added an AIMS Power PSW 1000 watt inverter and hardwired a dedicated 110 volt plug next to the bunk to run it. I can run all night with humidification no issue on one house battery (Truck Camper). Added a second battery this winter for some added power, just in case.

The AIMS Power PSW inverter has the lowest idle current draw of any inverter on the market and comes with a remote switch so you can shut it down when not needed.

So far, all is good.... zzzzzzzzzzzz;)
  • ResMed CPAP battery usage guide

ResMed warns against using the power inverters with with the heated humidifiers for most of their CPAP machines including S8 an prior models. Damage may result. Review the guide for usage with your machine.
I have S9 which ResMed says is okay and have used an inverter with. But I also have the 12v to 24v adapter by ResMed. At the time my insurance paid for it.
  • Initially I used my Res Med while inverting, no issue because I have 400 watts of solar and 6 batteries in my bank, with a 2000 W Pure Sine Wave. Now I use my new battery run tiny sized Res Med. Great set up.
  • I am trying to figure how to get 2 Cpaps in a Roadtrek and have come to the coclusion we will just pull in to a CG every night when possible.

My wife and I both have S8's and we run both every night on the Aims Power 1500 watt inverter that's hard wired to a 110 plug in the bunk. Never an issue and I have no solar, just 2 100 ah agm's in the battery box and my 2000 watt inverter which I run 2 hours every evening to recharge the bayyeries.

I can't do solar. Where I camp mostly, it's under a tree canopy in the woods.

\Don't know what a Roadtrek is however a camper is a camper to me.
  • With my current rig I simply run a 600 watt pure sine inverter powering the whole rig at night. Runs my runs my S-9 Vpap through the night without any significant drain on the batteries even if I run the heater. The inverter is also powering our cell phone chargers, an alarm clock etc.

With our previous rig which we boondocked in almost exclusively without solar I had a separate group 24 battery running a 400 watt pure sine inverter that powered my machine. If we were only going to be camping 3 or 4 nights on long weekends which was our most common type camping I never bothered with charging the battery back up until we got back home. It would make it 4 nights before hitting the 50 percent SOC level most of the time.
  • When we go camping, the one thing that never goes along is an alarm clock...lol

...and the cell phone stays off unless needed, which is rarely.
