I think every one of us at some time has forgotten or messed up something in the hookup. I towed my CRV about 4 miles with it in 1st gear (manual transmission) before realizing that it seemed to be dragging.
I thought I'd trashed the tranny. However, no harm done.
Now one of us does the hookup, without any interruption, and the other verifies it.
