Trimmed around the edge and lifted the vinyl clear back to the bare plywood floor and installed "peel & stick" vinyl tiles to the whole area.
Cost me 79c/sq ft.
The manufacturers do NOT recommend them for temps below 50 degrees but have worked for me.
