Well, this is a self inflicted wound on my part. But last week left the CG to go sight seeing. Left a bit of wood, an old axe, a very old rope, and my old beat up water hose. I was just being lazy.Yep, someone stole the stuff. Really wasn't worth 5 bucks altogether.Should thank them I guess, as I needed to replace that stuff anyway. Which I did. If you pulled out of your site in the RV, then someone thought you had left those items for first come, first served. We've seen many RVer's leave sewer hose and water hose attached, but they still set out orange cones on their site so everyone knows it's still occupied. Especially happens when they don't have a toad to drive around town.

My first thought would be camp host or clean up people figured you had left and were just cleaning up your site.

If the stuff was as beat up as you say, I'm guessing someone thought it was abandoned/left behind on purpose.Did you ask around?

I doubt it. It was a booked full Oregon State park. Also left a table cloth on the table, and two beat up chairs, which they left alone.

Kind of wish they had taken the chairs as well. Would give me an excuse to get new ones!!

Once I left an orange cone TO reserve my site while I took the coach to a dealer for service. I came back to find a couple in my spot and they just took my cone and put it in their storage bin. Park management made the mistake and sent them there so I guess they figured it was theirs. I am glad it was my wife dealing with both park management and the thieves or ignorant couple in my site because I wanted to tear them both up.

Junk may be too strong of a word here. Not new, but in decent shape would be a better description. I get the blame for that, as in my original post I used the terms "old and beat up".

And I also did not state in my first post. That I also left a table cloth and two chairs, which were not taken. So I did not tell the whole story correctly the first time. My bad.

I suspect kids in the campground. Likely to find the items lying in a ditch somewhere nearby where they finished playing with them.

I have seen people w/o toads leave their site to do whatever, when they came back their fire wood was all gone. There are people in every campground that are always on the look out for firewood and anything else they can take. I don't have an answer,unless it is carry an "occupied" sign with you for when you leave for a short spell.

The answer is, for me, not to be lazy, and pack the stuff up.

The reason I posted was, I thought it was humerous what people will steal. Just becuase they can. Replaced everything for about 40 bucks. Stuff was probably worth 5 bucks at a garage sale. Seems like a lot of effort on their part for very little return. That's the part I thought was funny
