We don't know what trailer or hitch is involved. We also don't know what type of suspension. We don't know if he has the skills to do the bearings or lug nuts properly.
Please provide more information.
He's a she. And yes she does.
Well, that explains it!! :) How many females can replace & repack bearings? Not many guys will even tackle that. Impressive!
I would also suspect the bushings. They usually use cheapo plastic ones. In a previous TT we had, they were all shot in just the trip from Indiana to our dealer on the west coast. There is a tremendous lateral (sideways) force on one of the axles in a tight turn because the axles each have a different turning radius and one axle literally gets dragged across the road surface as shown in the photo below and forces the axle to bend and camber to change (temporarily). Kinda shocking to see. If the plastic bushings are worn out, you will get metal rubbing against metal and possibly noise. You could drop the end of one of the springs and see what the bushing is like. If they need replacing, an upgrade to wet bolts would be a good thing to do.
If this is a TT, hitches can sometimes make loud creaking, popping and groaning sounds esp. when turning & backing up and is normal.
