- rickeoniExplorerDon't bring any food or drinks with you. It is less $$$ across the line and they have some stuff that you can't get up here. Been across several times with never a problem, when they ask what is back there tell him but don't get out of your vehicle unless asked. I have found it harder to get back into Canada then it is to leave.
- DiskDoctrExplorerAny kids who aren't yours (grandkids, nieces, etc), should have their info and a letter of permission from their parents.
IDK if this is more stringent now, but this is how it was for flights when we went. - sch911ExplorerAll of the above plus:
Use the regular auto lanes, not the truck lanes.
Roll down both front and rear TV windows.
Take off sunglasses and hats.
Have passports ready, if you have pets have vaccination paperwork ready.
Answer all questions truthfully.
Do not try to strike up a conversation with the guard.
Give the guard only what paperwork he/she asks for. - easycamperExplorerWe travel into the US usually once or twice a year. If you keep your trailer locked while travelling, have the key ready to give to the guard. They will probably want to check.
Rather than trying to keep up with all of the latest restrictions on food, we generally just take a bare minimum with us and stop at the supermarket on the US side. It can be awfully hard to remember everything you have in the fridge. Generally anything that's been processed and in a sealed container is going to be okay. If not, they'll take it. - RoyFExplorerOne more thing you will need: lots of patience, because the queue could be lengthy and the waiting time long.
