I have the same hitch. My thinking was the same as yours. I bought the hitch new and for $30 more went with the Q24, pulling a 18000# 40' toy hauler.
I had a set of old rails and they didn't fit and had to buy new ones. You could measure the pins on the hitch and the holes on the rails to see if the match. If I remember my old set of rails were quite a ways off.
