yes. clean, lube, and keep clean and greased up. grease is cheap as the mechanics say. metal on metal means quick wear and short life.
the big issue is that grease attracts dirt and the dirt (sand) will also cause wear. So, keep it clean and with fresh grease. The big semi's always clean and grease their 5th wheel trailer connection.
On these WD bars the grease will not stay on there long.
