Curt Trutrack

I was in the same position about a month ago and decided on Tru-track. Installation was easy but so far I have only pulled the trailer about 100 miles so I can't really say much yet. Quality seems good. I've hitched and unhitched the trailer 4-5 times and the process is fairly simple. The hitch is heavy but I have not had problems lifting it to put it in the receiver and I am not the fittest 65 yr old on the planet. I have a 2001 1500 Suburban and a 2009 Wildwood X-Lite 22RB that is about 4500 lbs ready to tow. Curt assured me the hitch was not overkill but etrailer thought it was possibly overkill. I had a little problem with getting the ball height right because 1 hole up was too high and the hole I am using seemed a little low but I think almost all WDH's use a hole system for ball height so the best you can do on any of them is find the closest to perfect and go with it. I've had no problem backing up with the bars in place and the hitch is fairly quiet.

Im in the same boat wanting to upgrade from EaZlift with sway break to somthing better.

Looking hard at equalizer but the Curt looks interesting and cheaper.

I agree. I use an Equal-i-zer hitch and am very satisfied with it. But if I were ever looking for a new hitch, I would look over the market to see what's new. There's always room for improvement through new engineering, design, etc.

The price is $466 for the equilizer and $378 for the Curt so there is not a big difference and I'm not using price to base my decision . I have heard nothing but good about the equilizer and the Curt seems to be the similar concept with 3 improvements. Easier angle adjustments, the ball bearing/detent system and a ball I don't need a special socket to torque it. If the hitch really doesn't work as advertised I'll just get an equalizer, but I figured I might as well check out this new hitch and base my decision from real world reviews

If the price is close why not stick with the one that you know works? I've had a couple Equalizer brand hitches and have been satisfied with both.
