The Original Mattress Factory will build a mattress to your specs, but they're all located east of Minnesota. I ordered a short queen for my 'C'. They built it with a wooden base that hinged right where the lid for the under bed storage opens. The guy I worked with asked for width and length measurements of the platform and the length from foot to the under bed hinge. Fits perfectly, extra firm and doesn't slide around. I wouldn't make a dog sleep on the mattress that came with my MH.
