Yes I believe this and seen punks doing stupid dangerous stuff in campgrounds at many locations. Heathens raising heathens American style.

Yep, urban legends tend to have long lives.

When my Tri-Mark striker bolt broke (I have several comments I could make on the design of those striker bolts but I do not wish to melt your monitor). I got real good at the emergency exit window.. Real Real good.

It happened twice. to me.

Kids will be kids.. I am reading ads for a new "Peal and stick" video doorbell (like the RING but no wires) pairs with your phone and I suspect it can record but not sure... Would be nice to hand the police a video of the kids. or park management.

It was relatively easy to unscrew the lock from the inside and force the latch open with a screwdriver.

I had the same issue. I was inside my truck camper when the latch broke. After a few seconds of panic, I was still not able to force the latch open but I was able to unscrew and remove the latch.

This stuff is as old as lighting a bag of dog poo on fire and then ringing the doorbell. When gramma and pop-pop go lights out in their RV at 9:00 pm, there are still mischievous teenagers running around the CG.

These posts come around every so often. A good reminder to always look down before you step out of the RV, kind of like the reminder not to click on links in emails from people you don't know....

Stairs folded in? Yes, certainly could be an issue, HOWEVER, I usually make it a point to watch where I'm stepping, especially when it comes to stairs, elevator shafts, and the like. Common sense and just plain paying attention could alleviate any potential missing stairs problem.

Your RV should have escape windows that open without breaking them.

On edit, I re-read and see you were trying to get in ,not out.

I tried it in both my 2003 Wildcat TT and my 2018 Arctic Fox and it worked with both of them - and I mean easily.

I think this one went straight from "what if..." to urban legend.

I anticipated this on my cargo trailer that has a similar bar that closes over the door, though it is not a hand rail at the same time. I made a fix, so to never get locked in by a prankster.
I have never had anyone close the bar, but that does not give me comfort...
