You are right it is chump change compared to the cost of a RV and is quite nice to have.
That being said, I just returned from a long trip and used mine...But not all the time.
It was mounted in the window above the cab, thus keeping the dash clear and turned on remotely at select times, like when going thru the Redwoods and in to the Campgrounds there.
Also going across the Golden Gate Bridge and other interesting sights then downloaded to my laptop each day.
After returning home it was edited to a really neat travel log.
It takes some practice but it is fun. We did capture some unexpected things too.
It added to the experience and wasn't a big bother.
