What year is your Focus?? Focus with auto transmission from 2012 thru 2014 have to have the battery disconnected while towing and the ignition in the off position. Actually once you disconnect the battery you can turn the ignition completely to the off position and remove the key. Follow the directions in the manual to get it tow ready, it can be a costly lesson if you don't.
