Well, you've learned a valuable lesson:
Be sure to get payment policies up front before you agree to wait for manufacturer reimbursement.
As noted before, your mistake was likely entering into that agreement with the CUSTOMER. If immediate payment was a concern, you could have made him pay you and let him wait for the check from Forest River.
