Didn't want to hIjack.

This was suggested in another thread, and I didn't want to hijack, so here is a thought. Has anyone ever noticed on most cars and trucks there is a little indicator next to the gas gauge that shows which side the filler is on?? If you haven't, look at yours the next time you get in it. In the MH, filler is on the back, so its anyones guess.
  • I like to get gas at COSTCO, the fuel pump hoses are long enough to reach the far side of vehicles.
There is no 'wrong side' of the pump. :)
  • My Damon Challenger built on Ford chassis breaks the rule. Guage indicates fuel fill is on the left but filler is on the right. Since I drive a Ford F-150 with fill on the left, it took awhile for me to ignore the gauge indicator. Nothing worse than pulling a 38' coach into the wrong side of the pumps!
  • since my rig has fillers on both sides it only shows dollar signs $$$$$

Sometimes it may be helpful when driving a borrowed or rental vehicle............

  • I've got one of each, and... more than once, have pulled in on the passenger side with my truck, only to find the fuel door missing. my daily driver is on the passenger side, so I guess it's become habit.

very annoying when I make the mistake with the trailer hitched up.
  • And don't you just hate the guy who pull in on the other side, the wrong side.
  • Depends......

Some have the little pump symbol with an arrow pointing to fill side

Some will 'state and point' which side
  • No, haven't noticed and never really thought about it. But then, by the time I need to fuel up I'm already familiar with the vehicle I'm driving.
