Personally, I would rather have a good rear view camera (which I do) to keep an eye on the towed vehicle. I look at it often as part of the "mirror scan" that I do frequently while on the move.
I haven't had a blow-out in years. DW did have a road hazard cut sidewall once, a few years ago. The TPMS indicated low pressure right after the tire went flat! Between that, and the false alarms due to temperature change, I haven't seen much to impress me about TPMS systems, whether OEM or after market. There may be an OEM system on the PT Cruiser, but other than that (if it is there), I don't have any, don't much want any.
