Disconnecting dolly and vehicle

That is a it depends question. If there is room on the street in front of where you are parking, then I would unhook there. That gives you a space to put the dolly once the car is off. If the streets are not wide enough there is usually room at the office / registration center to unhook. It is only not good to back up with the car on the dolly. Once the car is off you can back up with the dolly attached to the motorhome.
