Dish - 2 tv setup ?

We are getting a Kropf Park Model next spring. It will have the main tv in the living area as well as one in the kitchen.

I have Dish at my current fifth wheel with one tv. I have the Dish HD dish and box.

Will I need a second box from Dish for the tv in the bedroom? I have cable at home and I have only dealt with a one tv setup at camp. Don't know how this works.

Thanks to all who comment.

  • The open face dish antenna has extra cable hook ups behind the head. Remove 4 screws holding the head on and run another RG 6 cable to your new 211 to make it work.

It's not so much what you say, but in how you say it.

When I bought a park model, I called up a local DISH installer and had them install a regular open-faced dish (like a 1000.2 or 1000.4) on my park model.

Using one of these dishes, you can move any DISH setup you have in your RV to your park model.

Since you have a DISH 211 type receiver in your RV, I suggest getting another one for the 2nd TV.

With that open-faced dish, you'll then be able to watch different programming on each 211.
  • I have Dish receiver 211k. I see I can buy one from Amazon for less than $100.

If I purchase another 211k for the bedroom tv, is it correct to say all I need is for dish to recognize the new receiver and we can watch both tv's at the same time and watching different channels?

Dish has given me great service. Comcast at home has good service but anytime I call them I get sales pitches to upgrade service. Thought this forum was a good source of information.

    Thanks all.

  • Sometimes contacting DISH (or DirecTV) directly, especially about RV installs, is the last thing you want to do.

There are some knowledgable folks here.
  • If you really like to watch shows and simultaneous record other shows and do it on 2 or more TVs, get a Hopper and Joey(s). You can also do 2 TVs and record at the same time with a 722 receiver, just not as much so.
  • Dish makes a receiver for 2 televisions, so each one can run independent of the other. We actually had 4 televisions running from the receiver in the house. There were 2 televisions with their own remote and then each one of those has a slave attached, which copied to a different room. Get the right receiver and it will be much less complicated.

(We no longer have Dish-TV. Got tired of them raising prices on us).
  • More info needed . . .

    • What model dish antenna are you using?
    • What model receiver are you using?
