Well I am a 31 year, two war (vietnam/kuwait), combat infantry vet and every time I see a flag on a vehicle or residence, I think there is someone who is trying to prove their nationalism/patriotism. I always wonder why they feel they need to prove it.
They are like those guys that come up to me and say I wish I could have served but....or I was in the ...... and did not get to go to...... it all does not matter to me. I will defend the flag burner as well as the flag waver. Neither one has my respect but they have their rights under the constitution. That is what I swore to protect and defend.
