I thought swampys evaporated water to cool, not using ice.
made a window unit years back. tried it on my dad's car. cracked the window. hid the unit very well after that.
in one of the various mail order catalogs I get one had a set of freezies designed to mount on the front of a standard fan for cooling. probably woudl work just as well to leave freezer door open.
