Do I need equalizer bars?

I had that happen to me when I decided that the short trip to storage didn't require the EQ bars. Well I was in a hurry hooking up and long story short the trailer popped off the hitch bar at 35mph on a secondary road. Only damaged my ele. tongue jack and a small dent on truck bumper. If the EQ bars were put on (and the coupler latched)that would not of happened. I'm never in a hurry to hook up now after that experience!

I have the same basically the same setup with a 2500 truck and I don't run any WDH. My running weight is just under 7K and about 700lbs TW. I run a class v receiver.

You do not have to use equalizer bars, but you may porpoise on rough roads.

I also have a dually diesel towing a 35 ft TT. I use equalizer bars to handle sway and control porpoiseing .

If your receiver can support a dead weight of arond 900-1000lbs then you might not need one. Personaly, I would use one anyway as it makes the ride so much better and only takes a few seconds longer to hook up than just using the ball alone.

You may not need WD bars, but you still may want to use a sway bar of some sort. Although the dully is very stable, the trailer could be swaying and you'd never feel it in the truck.

Doubtful. Just for grins measure your front wheel well height before and after hitching up the trailer. If there is a difference, I'm betting it's not much if any. Then drive it and see how it steers.
