Give the guy some credit. He found a way to pull a rusted cotter pin.
Man, I never thought of that... I'm going to try that. Should save on scraped knuckles! - Community AlumniWhat! None of you have ever seen an emergency disconnect! :S
- kroghvilleExplorerThis is a trick picture----Right?
- mlts22ExplorerThere is always the breakaway switch...
Funny thing, because I use a locking hitch pin, I can't do anywhere near the innovation as the OP's pic shows. - D_E_BishopExplorerI think that some times folks do things out of the lack of understanding and others out of expediency. Which ever way, that is just stupid.
On the other hand, and to change the subject, does anyone (without looking it up) know what a Cotter Pin is? The object in question is not a Cotter Pin, devices like that are commonly called Hair Pin Clips or Cotter Clips but it is not a Cotter Pin which is the common name for a Cotter Key.
Not being a smart *SS, just an old guy with a German father who was an engineer and insisted on using correct mechanical names, some of which I have retained. - Happy_ProspectoExplorerJust remember it is a small trailer.
Besides what could possibly go wrong?
The information is out there, all you have to do is let it in. - 2012ColemanExplorer III love the poorly educated... Wait, did I just say that? :@

Thank you I must have looked at that picture 10 times and did not see a Cotter Pin, clip yes pin no. - D_E_BishopExplorerWell Laman, I think I edited out my original question, I originally asked, does anyone (without looking it up) know what a cotter key was originally used for?
Now, for sure it is a cotter clip, oh yeah, that's what I said.
Sorry for offending you and anyone else, I just thought is was funny someone would have called it a cotter pin. I guess it is like their and there for a lot of folks, it sort of grates on me.
