Short answer is no,they are nice to look at and use a lot of propane to get any good heat from them.I have a very good one and take it along when I know that a real fire is prohibited, for the ambiance only.
But for the same ambiance and about the same amount of comfort of a real fire I think I will get one of THESE :B
