Please read this first:1) I am pouring over floor plans and looking while shopping, and aware of tape measures, etc.2) I am looking for DISCUSSION, not the dismissive lecture that are sometimes posted here- I know I'm ultimately responsible, and I will triple confirm before we buy anything...but in early shopping stages and learning some generalities.3) My question is pretty specific and I'm looking for folks who might have personal experience...of I wish I had thought of this or glad I did that...Here's the background and question:I'm seeing three types of "hallway" configurations on 24-28 ft rear living campers (limited to those with left/driver-side slide outs.Hallway on the driver/left side that is 'obliterated' when the slide is pulled in.Hallway on the passenger side that appears to offer full access with the slide in.A center passageway (or pass-through bath)...THOSE ARE THE ONES I WANT TO ASK ABOUT...after visiting a lot today, at least one of those models was 'effectively' choked off with the slide in. There was still a gap, but only wide enough for a kid to get through.Anyone here with that sort of floor plan that would be willing to give their $0.02? Thanks much!

We had a 27' Palomino Puma, RL, with one long slide on the driver's side. When pulled in, there was still a narrow access to the fridge and into the pass-through bathroom. However, it was slightly easier to get to the bathroom by using the second entry door, located on the passenger side of the bedroom.Access will vary from model to model. We saw some with no bathroom access with the slide in. Those models were eliminated from our shopping list. We wanted access to the fridge and bathroom, and the Puma fit the bill.

Push the button, put the slide out 2 feet, do whatever you needed to do, push the button again.

We have one of the layouts you are looking at. Ours is a 30ft with a drivers side slide out. The hallway is on the passenger side. I prefer this layout for those times we are travelling. We can still get to the bedroom without having to put out the slides every time you stop. Think of it like this. You are travelling and decide to stop at a tourist area. The weather is not quite what you expect. Do you want to put out the slide just to grab a jacket? Or want to pull over somewhere and get a drink. Same thing, do you want to have to put out the slide just so you can get a can of drink out of the fridge?Its good that you are thinking about this now, instead of finding out later about it.

are you just talking about fifth wheels or travel trailers?

Edit- my bad- this is regarding travel trailers, not 5th wheels...the 26 to 28 ish floor plans tend to have a big, driver-side slide...and then the "hallways" are driver or center or passenger side. Think of it like this. You are travelling and decide to stop at a tourist area. The weather is not quite what you expect. Do you want to put out the slide just to grab a jacket? Or want to pull over somewhere and get a drink. Same thing, do you want to have to put out the slide just so you can get a can of drink out of the fridge?

Its good that you are thinking about this now, instead of finding out later about it.

Here is where the dual slide rear living room really shines! There is no blockage with the slides in, although they may be a bit longer than the ones you are considering.

We have the Keystone Outback 298RE. Except for cabinet door on the living room side of the kitchen sink, everything is accessible and usable. (The television in the lift up-and-down under the rear window can be seen, but it's mostly blocked from view with slides both living room slides in.) But this is easily remedied by having a television in the bed room.

With slides in, it's all accessible. Ours came with free standing furniture. We removed 2 chairs and the kitchen table and 4 chairs and replaced with a home version, 3 seater, recliner couch. I put wheels on it so it's easy to move around. We can turn it and face it directly to the rear window for viewing out that fabulous back full rear window, or with television "up", watch television without any obstructions.

I highly recommend looking at opposing rear living room slide variations. Personally, I don't want the entertainment center or the kitchen in one of the slides, blocking any potential view.

LOL- Saw one today with a center island and it was almost totally locked down with both slides pulled in. As I view your floor plan, it isn’t the second slide out that addresses the issue- it’s that your “hallway” is on the passenger side- and you can get that with one slide. Still hoping for replies regarding pass through baths or center halls- that’s where there’s a question.

Our past TT was a 26’ Forest River Flagstaff 26RL, that we could access everything with the slide in. The slide did cover the TV but that was no issue for us. DW could use the restroom and grab us whatever we needed while I pumped gas.

Exactly.
Our last two TT's required me to put the slide out a foot or two to use the kitchen area.
Holding my finger on the button for 10 seconds is no big deal.
So having a slide in the way of using it at stops makes no difference to us and we are nothing but happy with our floor plan.

My Layout.. 38' (37'7") bath and a half. 3 Slides

Full bath is in the rear, half "Amidships" as it were
Main slide (Front) leave me access to the half bath and control panel (on the "hall" side of the bathroom wall) I can reach the bed but not walk around it with the two bedroom slides (Bed and wardrobe) retracted.. Hence the half bath
Kitchen is opposite the main slide so I can get to it

UNLESSA I store stuff in the isle (I DO) then I can't get to anyhting

SO.. I have a radio Remote (key fob thing) that will let me run the main slide in and out from the driver's seat.> A few issues with it. but nothing I can't handle.
