I have been planning a long foray into the hnterlands here in BC, just south of Vanderhoof. Using Google maps, I am showing an 8 hour drive, which means I am going to run out of fuel. There may be a resort in there that sells fuel..maybe..or maybenot. Or it's dirty...or has water in it. I also plan to be in for a week or 10 days...fishing and so on.
I want to find a way to take two 30L fuel jugs and it has been a struggle. I have suspened two using some rope..just to give the idea.

There is an outfit in Utah that has come up with a design but it's a 500 dollar bill to get it to me. But, I am trying to create my own, based on his...I am going to see if I can get two fuel can carriers like Smiitybuilt, and if they have a metal plate, thread a wide cargo strap thru to secure them, and then run the strap around the spare...one can on each side of the tire. There is one can in this pic and a step or whatever that is on the right outside. I'd just put another can carrier there.

For those that want to see where I am going...

You probably have considered the significant increase in weight you would be adding to the fasteners/welds that hold the spare tire to the vehicle. You must also account for "shock loads". This could be very significant when all that weight goes up a bump and then comes banging down with two or three times the force of the weight alone.
I would re-think this idea a bit. Or re-design the spare tire carrier and fastening to at least three times its current capacity.
