I never have, and also have not run out of fuel. I have (by choice) been fairly low a couple times because of unreasonably high prices at gas stations. My class C (with a 55 gallon tank) can go about 400 miles on a tank of gas.

I might if I were headed someplace truly "out there" (like the drive to AK) - our van only has a 25 gallon gas tank. All it would take is one outpost fuel station to not be working, and we could be in trouble. Otherwise, no.
I just got back from a trip around Alaska. The longest stretch of road without services I was on was traveling along the Dalton Highway where is a span of about 240 miles between Coldfoot and Deadhorsse with no gas available. Usually it was less than, say, 50 miles between stations...not always, but usually.
