As to why work campers are doing jobs that seem not to fit their skills, sometimes the management does not recognize those skills. Sometimes the work camper wants it that way. Doing something different from their work careers is relaxing.
I managed working people for my entire working career. Now, I only want to manage me. I have absolutely NO interest in managing or supervising people at all.
As a work camper either you accept what is offered or look for a position that "fits" what you want to do.
When you find that special "job", you keep returning. We have committed for the position we have now, for next summer already. It will be our fourth summer with them, for a lot of reasons.
There are many conditions that makes the "job" special, for you, individually. When you find a position that fits really well, you hang on to it as long as you are content to return to the same place.
