Everybody talks about how important it is to have goals, but I disagree. A goal has to be specific, measurable, and has a deadline. (For example, retire at 60 years old with x dollars in the bank) ...

DW and I had a goal for me to retire when I became eligible. Ended up having to work 50 days extra for tax reasons. Now we have flexible dreams of where we want to travel each year. 1st year after retirement was Alaska, the next year we decided on Newfoundland and Labrador. Last year was to Texas, and this year we want to finish the Canadian Provinces, so it is to Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The year after taking our eldest grandson to the Grand Canyon and then to be determined.... Life is good.
