Do you think I should spend $2600 and add exhaust brake?

My truck is a Florida rig, no hills. Now 3 weeks away from a cross country trip and really considering adding the exhaust brake... Will be heading across the Rockys going from SD to San Fran... ...

for just one or two trips ,NO spend the money on having fun , or a new gift for the wife.
