Who cares who drove what over what hills. People did it in model T's too - should we do that again? Heck, my folks drove a 1960 Ford Falcon over them too but who want's to do that again. How about those covered wagons?
I drove an earlier CTD over the Rockies without an EB and it was miserable.
Get the EB. Will you get the money out of it when you sell? You'll get some of it and you'll enjoy every minute of owning one.
BTW, your 06 is one of the most desirable diesel trucks on the planet. You will get top dollar when you sell it!
