Do you think I should spend $2600 and add exhaust brake?

My truck is a Florida rig, no hills. Now 3 weeks away from a cross country trip and really considering adding the exhaust brake... Will be heading across the Rockys going from SD to San Fran... ...

It would be nice but we have not needed it. I slow down at the top of the grade and shift into tow/haul mode, if speed starts to creep up I snub the brakes to keep things at a comfortable level.
