Do you think I should spend $2600 and add exhaust brake?

My truck is a Florida rig, no hills. Now 3 weeks away from a cross country trip and really considering adding the exhaust brake... Will be heading across the Rockys going from SD to San Fran... ...

There is a factory certified Jake/ Cummins brand for the 06. I paid $1400 for the part and install on my 06. Shop around.
