Do you think I should spend $2600 and add exhaust brake?

My truck is a Florida rig, no hills. Now 3 weeks away from a cross country trip and really considering adding the exhaust brake... Will be heading across the Rockys going from SD to San Fran... ...

Both of my diesels have VGT's that serve the same function. I use the EB in traffic as much as I do the hills - It's not just for elevation descents, but for any desired deceleration.
