At 2PM today, the European Forecast Model projected the hurricane to move farther to the west; possibly making landfall in FL and traveling up the coast. While landfall should take some of the punch out of the hurricane, it also puts the East Coast on the east side of the storm, which is NOT a good place to be. Brevard County, FL is already ordering evacuations along the coast and barrier islands - they must believe the hurricane will make a FL landfall?
Personally, I'd leave now and get west of the Appalachians; and camp with an eye towards flood-avoidance.
