Some how my wife got someone to open up about how COSTCO sets their gasoline prices. They survey the surrounding area and price theirs at $0.05 a gallon cheaper than the cheapest around the store. They usually don't include the cut rate place nearby that is $0.01 to $0.02 a gallon cheaper than COSTCO.
The Sheep comment is in my never to be humble opinion, is just from someone who can't think maybe those people in line at COSTCO are not as stupid as the disgruntled somebody who can't see anything in the world is better than how they think. Some folks just have to hate. I wait in line lets say 15 min., I fill up at $2.55 per gallon, I use my credit card and you fill up a Valero at $2.50 CASH, or $2.60 credit. Well I guess you're right if you go to the bank every 2 days and get +/- $175.00 to fill up you save $7.00 less the ATM fee of $2.50 times 23.3 fill ups in 10 weeks on the road. or a measly $58.00 extra you pay by paying cash. Come on we can bend numbers too, maybe we just like the gas there and you like to troll.
I've never had to wait for 40 or 45 minutes and it may happen sometimes but remember during the gas shortage in the 70's, there wasn't any gas available to speak of and some stations had kids standing around to push cars to the pumps that ran out of gas waiting in line.
I believe in adding apples and oranges to get fruit salad but why should I even think about all the sour grapes we're getting on this post.
And to the OP, no there isn't any secret discount and yes 70-75 gallons every 3 days for ten weeks is great and COSTCO is where we shop for other stuff too.
