Funny you should say that about adding something...
My neighbor always uses their gas and has had intermittent engine roughness and stalling problems for a couple of years. Mechanic finally figured out it was water in his gas and "claimed" that Cosco has a problem with this. We too, use Cosco premium in our Challenger SRT which sometimes idles rough for no apparent reason.
.....
So we're done with Cosco gas - at least form the one in Woodenville Wa.
I can tell you with certainty that you have bought gas at your local CostCo that came from the same refinery as gas you bought from Chevron.
Both contract out to one of the same four local refineries.
Well there's no denying Cosco had water in their fuel for an extended amount of time. I saw the proof in the gas tank.
There is no evidence Chevron has the same problem.
Of course they get fuel from local facilities. They're not having it shipped in from China. While Cosco claims to use "Top Tier" gas it still isn't the same thing other branded stations like Exxon or Chevron get. They stipulate expensive additive/chemical packages and other specification that only they can use.
Cosco undoubtedly uses its buying power to command lower wholesale prices. I worked in big business enough to know that often comes at some cost in quality.
