I hear what your saying Bruce. I worked in aviation electronics for more than 20 years and I know that a fuse rarely just fails. In fact, during that time I never found a blown fuse that wasn't caused by something else. Sometimes I would have to exercise or take extreme steps to make it fail again but I always could duplicate the failure with enough effort.
