My previous fiver had a ceiling fan and it helped a little but not as much as the ones in my house. I do believe the distance from the ceiling to the blades has an effect on the fan. Is yours mounted as low as it can be in the fiver due to slideout or ceiling height etc? If not, maybe you could add an extension rod to lower it somewhat. I know that Home Depot, Lowes etc sell fan parts. Whether they would fit your particular fan is another question but may be worth checking into.
