"look down your nose"? HUH? Of course, one has to put up with a lot of stuff at crowded campgrounds that we wish we didn't have to.
Being able to bring pets to campgrounds IS a privilege. National Parks, BLM, Forestry CGs, State Parks, and private parks "let" us bring our pets. They don't have to. Those that don't follow the rules in place for pets put ALL pet owners at risk of having that privilege snatched away.
