Actually, people were domesticated by dogs. Not the other way around. When the dog discovered people ate meat and then threw the bones away the dog started hanging around people. When he did that he became a alarm system allowing the people to prosper better. Also, by helping people on the hunt the dog got more food. When people discovered the dog's nose could help them find more game they stated hunting with the dog. This allowed the people to stay in one place longer. Staying in one place longer allowed agriculture to be developed . And, town started growing around where the agriculture was and that led to,,,, well lots of other things but, I think you get the point.
