Dog owners!

In regards to the OP.
There is NO 'immediate' fix when it comes to animals.
Pet animals NEED and DESERVE to be TRAINED.

Looking for a quick fix while on the road on the fly is simply NOT the answer.

I have dogs, I travel with several dogs, all the dogs are trained. Yet albeit I too, DO get upset when pulling into a CG where pet owners have untrained pets and do NOT follow CG rules.

Doesn't make me a dog hater just real disappointed in the number of pet owners who just don't get it and make other campers RV'ing experience less than peaceful.

AH COME ON people, don't ya know how to close a thread? We had threads about it! Long threads about closure of threads. Very considerate and appreciated! Seeing something like this note showing the owner has consideration for his neighbors would be repaid with EXTRA tolerance on our part if camped near you.

uh, dumb question. some rv sites you are packed on top of each other. you don't have to be 'close enough', as in tresspassing onto their site, to hear a loud barking mutt.

at the beach we were about 8 ft max from our neighbors camper. their little white dog sat at the window and non-stop barked at us under our awning. think we couldn't hear it? You bet I could :)

why would you consider a place where you are no more than 8 feet apart? How could it possibly be enjoyable camping to sit outside 8 ft from a a neighbor's plastic wall?

I'm trying to understand not argue.

sometimes you walk into it. old cg on beach. Holden beach campground. older than the hills and SUPER small. like 22 sites right on the water. location location location. sites are so close it is scary. :) every now and then ya run into these types of situations. Would I go back? haven't yet and it was about 3 years ago we went. but hey, ya never know. if the urge hits I might just book it again cause it was a nice area.

Interesting question to ask someone like me with four dogs that go everywhere with us. I think I've made it plain as day that in all my years of camping/RV'ing, a barking dog has never risen to annoyance stature!( I guess that means I've never been close enough to my neighbor's paper thin walls to hear much of anything) I made the comment about changing ones itinerary to accommodate those certain "members" whose hearing is so much more sensitive and selective than mine. Once again....even with all my years of RV'ing with dogs, never once has anyone complained about them and I ask to be sure there not a nuisance to anyone.

I will take a different stand on the use of "pens" .....I set them up at every site I go too but I assure you, my dogs are never left out alone, someone is always supervising their activity.

The you was generic. I agree my 3 dogs are never left out in a pen unsupervised. First thing is they are much to valuable and secondly we don't want them to annoy people. When people see our dogs most often they come to pet and play with them.

Actually, the tone of some of this thread is a good analog for a CG. If you start out with a complete lack of respect or consideration for those sharing the space with you, one will most likely find that attitude returned in spades!

In direct response to the OP, if a 'camper' determined to abuse their dogs and their neighbors with a distressed and constantly noisy dog barking all day while the owner was out, and was determined to continue that bad behavior after failing to respond to courteous requests in opposition, it would be quite acceptable for that camper to return to find the appropriate authorities had removed their dogs and possibly even be waiting for the owner with an invitation to 'tell it to the judge'

Whew. Long sentence to say such people do not deserve to share space with a pet, let alone other people. Little chance of anyone- or animal- being happy in such a situation.

My comments are directed at the attitude, not the person. Bad attitudes remain bad. A person has a choice and can abandon any such attitudes at any time.
