When folks yell at the dog to "shut up", and it continues barking - that usually means the dogs are not trained well, and neither are its owners.
We get it, have had lots of dog-buddies in our homes - protect your property in one thing, simply barking at anything and everything non-stop is not protecting anything, nor warning anyone ... it's simply annoying.
Generally, dog manners are similar to its owner manners.
