Donating RV...

I was just curious if anyone has ever donated an RV? We are interested in getting rid of the HTT in my signature quickly and thought donation would work. We've tried to sell it for several months. We've had tons of interest, but no buyers. It's amazing how many folks are interested and setup appointments to view it and then never show up.

Is there one service that is better than others? We were looking at Cars For US Troops. I couldn't think of a more worth charity, but I am not familiar with them other than their web site.

Thanks,

-Michael

the asking price must be scaring people away. what were you asking for it?

  • Just check out any charity before donating to them. I'd hate to donate anything thinking it is going for a good cause only to find out only a tiny portion of the donations actually go to a worthy cause while a huge portion goes to "administration fees" - salaries!
  • Is this your TT?

  • I am not from the States, but I love the Troops idea. If you don't need the money from the sale, I think any help our troops, your troops get, in any form is great.
  • Keep in mind that if you donate it to claim the tax deduction, you are only talking 15%-30% of what you sell it for as the deduction. and the IRS will be skeptical if you value it too highly. advertise it on Craig's list as little more than that and it should sell.

  • I know my daughter would love to have it. Single mom with 3 children that love camping. PM me if this would be an option.
  • The Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries, National Public Broadcasting, and a myriad of other organizations would be happy to receive your donation. You'd also get a charitable donation tax break.

Try googling for organizations in your area.
