- JanssExplorer III have actually said that very thing to several people who have asked me that same question!
- mama_sylviaExplorerThe first class C I wanted to buy, DH asked what kind of mileage it got. I told him if he was going to worry about the mileage, I'd drop the idea immediately. It's about comfort, not fuel efficiency.
- MrWizardModeratorDon't I know it
the same goes for Generator usage

Yep, that's why some of us travel in a RV and others travel in a Toyota Prius.
But, a large RV that gets Prius mileage is a nice thought. :) - jplante4Explorer II

Until you get to the first hill. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIThat's the nice thing about a Class A.. You do indeed burn a lot of fuel when you drive it.. but when you 'Drop' the towed and run to the store, or church, or attraction, or dinner, or _______. you sip (Modern cars 30-40 MPG or more) v/s the far far greater consumption of the big honking Pick up you tow yoru 5er with.
- LwiddisExplorer IIThere are driving techniques that lead to better fuel efficiency...reducing speed is the biggest one IMO.
- Jim_NormanExplorerI can easily surpass Prius MPG with my DP. When I go down a hill with the exhaust brake on, my Dash computer says I am getting 150.5 MPG! Lets see your Prius do that!
I think WE all realize it is Comfort per mile, not miles per gallon that counts here. And there is a cost per vacation issue as well. We all do need and I am generally speaking here to my side of the gene pool, that what we consider a vacation still has cooking and cleaning happening so don't be shy guys, lend a hand! Even if you do ALL the driving and wood splitting. Make it a vacation all the way around or it won't be a vacation for anyone for long! - ScottGNomadI saw a great bumper sticker on a nice lifted Jeep the other day. It said something like:
Because your kids will not remember 34.9 MPG. - OLYLENExplorerCould be a power boat twin diesel 38 MPH, i'll skip the knots and 38 GPH fuel flow.
