You are somewhat correct in the fact that many coaches, including the one in the incident, have large engines with lots of HP but, even you, towing your VW bug, WITH THE WHEELS LOCKED UP (parking brake or, in gear or, both) could tell something's not right, within a few feet of progressing from the initial take-off.
