Well,
Something's amiss here. Talk about CLUELESS! Do you (anyone) mean to tell me that, you, as a driver of that coach, could not tell there was some SERIOUS ADDED RESISTANCE as he/she would start to pull away from where things were hooked up/attached/camp spot/driveway/side of curb/parking lot/where ever ??????
I certainly don't mean to be disrespectful or, condescending in any way non-appreciative of the poor situation that person was in but, I'd just about bet that any one of you could tell if you had that much RESISTANCE as you started to pull away from your last stop. I know I could. In fact, yes, I did it. But, I could tell in less than about 10' that something was not right.
We'd been Jeeping around a certain area and, it was time to hook up and head out to head back home. We'd pulled up to the back of the coach, hooked all the components up, tow bar, cables, Ready Brake, pig tail etc. But, for some odd reason, one of us, either me or the wife, normally she's the one that pulls up to the back of the coach and I guide her to a stopping point so I can hook up the tow bar.
But, most of the time we check each others operation. Well, as stated, something got missed. We left the parking brake on. Just missed it.
So, when it came time to pull out, I put the coach in gear, let off the parking brake on the coach and, pulled away from our site. Within about 10' I knew something was seriously wrong. I had to use waaaaay too much throttle to even get going. And, when I let off, the coach came to an abrubt stop, as though I was applying the brakes but, my foot was no where near the brake pedal.
I put the coach in park, set the parking brake and, jumped out to see what was wrong. Well, it didn't take long to find out what the problem was because, behind the Jeep was two, long tire-drag marks, in the dirt. CRAP! So, over to the Jeep we both went and, low and behold, the parking brake was on.
Fortunately, no damage to anything. We released the parking brake and, were on our way home.
But, this person, towing that Honda in that picture, HAD to know something was wrong way early on. That kind of drag, YOUR CAR IN PARK, had to have presented an abnormal throttle response. I see in the picture it's a Phaeton that was doing the towing. I have no idea what comes in those for power plants but, again, he had to feel the considerable extra drag.
