My first thought on hearing about this incident was "Hooray! Cops are pulling over idiot drivers".
I see so many people driving who aren't paying attention to, well, driving... that I think it is great a cop pulled her over. Maybe people reading about this will actually think about driving while they are driving.
Most people that I know of who got pulled over for distracted driving actually deserved much more than that... but the cop is just trying to be nice and not writing a larger ticket. Then the cop still gets bad mouthed.
I am a believer that dash cams and body cams will do more to justify a cop's actions than anything else. It would have been great to see on video what happened with that traffic stop, both the driving that attracted the officer's attention and then the interaction with the driver.
