If the aircraft is sold additional hours are not added added by a ferry. We trucked a Bell 47 (remember MASH)from Prince George B.C. to Minneapolis, it did not have sufficient fuel range for portions of the trip. Other times an operator will send out an air frame to a specialty shop for a major overhaul then back to be painted and reassembled.
